Helvite, discovered at theFriedefurst Mine, Germany in 1804, is a rare Mn, Be silicate. Helvite has occured in a number of worldwide localities but often in micro's or in larger cyrstals that lack color and luster. This specimen has crystals with exceptional color and bright luster. The largest crystal is 1.6 cm across and it is very aesthetically perched at the top of the specimen. There are a half a dozen other helvite crystals on the specimen giving balace to the focalpoint crystal. To accent the helvite there are light purple fluorite crystals up to 5mm sprinkled across the specimen. This specimen would make a great addition to any collection.
