Springfield Show Review!!!
< Back to News
This years Springfield show was a great sucess. The crowds were very strong and sales were brisk for many of the dealers we talked to. Friday, the opening day of the show, saw record attendance!
This year the show had an added bonus. Scott Rudolph hosted a party on August 10th to debut his new mineral room. Steve and I arrived there at about 2 PM and the party was already going strong.
When you first enter Scott's mineral hall you are greeted by one of the worlds great mineral specimens. "Big Red", from the 1998 Graham's Pocket discovery at the Sweet Home Mine, is just inside the door.

After taking in the beauty of the first case you make your way up some stairs and enter the first hall of cases set up in Scott's barn.

The first hall has a niche in which a fine large stibnite specimen from China is displayed.

At the end of the first hall you make a turn to the right and another hall lies ahead. Each wing of the exhbition room has about eight cases.

The next photo is taken from the end of the second hall looking back.

Steve takes some time to study the metals case. Steve loves a good copper specimen, but the "El Fuego" gold specimen from the Colorado Quartz mine is holding his attention!

The following is a photo of the specimen I shot in our studio of the other side of the specimen. It is hard to pick which side is better!

The following are a few photos of the cases.

One of the three Tsumeb cases.

This case had many great pyromorphites and wulfenites.

One of his Red Cloud mine wulfenite specimens.

His diopside from Tanzania.

The Minette "Shoe Box" azurite rose collection from Bisbee.

We set up our booth at the Eastern States Exhibition Fairgrounds like we had in previous years. We had four long cases and one column case.

We set one of the long cases and the column case up with minerals from the Mineral Treasures of the World exhibit in Beijing.

Bill Larson was the featured exhibitor at this years show. He brought many of his finest specimens to display at the show. The following photos are a few of the highlights.

And of course "The Snail" made and appearance!

Well...that wraps up another year at the Springfield show. It is the only show on the east coast that the Collector's Edge does. We really look forward to visiting with all of our friends in the area that are able to attend.
Our focus now turns to the Denver show coming up in a few weeks. We plan to pull out all the stops for our home show. We will be doing a couple shows on our Minerals Live web brodcast to update you on what you can expect.
